The Tab for the Brochure follows this introduction. In preparation for meetings with the Governor, Secretary of Energy and Environmental Affairs, Congressional Delegation and State Representatives to request their support on behalf of the five communities, the Revere planners, who are coordinating the lead for the five communities, requested that a 2-3 page document be prepared to explain the project and actions to help get the project implemented. In a conference call to discuss the strategy on how to move forward, Mr. Steven C. Davis, PE, President of Rackemann Strategic Consulting, Inc. offered to prepare a brochure, and did an excellent job using material largely from this web site and the discussion. Mr. Davis was the former Assistant Secretary of Environmental Affairs (head of MEPA) during the investigation and had helped the Project Manger (PM) over the past 1.5 years to prepare letters and documents sent by the PM to legislators and communities encouraging them to re-consider the project. Also providing valuable comments during the same time frame on these documents and brochure was Dr. Joseph Horowitz, Project Environmental Manager. Revere’s Project Planners making the request for the brochure and providing comments were Ms. Elle Baker and Mr. Frank Stringi. Mr. Ed Reiner with the US Environmental Protection Agency provided the Rumney Marsh map and some comments on the estuary. Please note that following the preparation of the Brochure, area legislators requested that the town of Nahant be included with the communities that benefit from the project, since the project requires the protection and maintenance of the Nahant Causeway, the only access to the island.
